The venue
This East Vancouver gathering place began as Gymbodian Hall, opening in 1926, before the WISE societies purchased it in 1963. Concerts and community events now share that long social history. A neighbourhood hall with a musical life beyond any single scene.

Sour Widows formed in 2017 around songwriters Maia Sinaiko and Susanna Thomson and drummer Max Edelman. The Bay Area band’s records include its self-titled debut EP and Revival of a Friend on Exploding in Sound. Close vocal interplay and guitar-led arrangements give the songwriting its shape.
