Green Auto puts independent bands on the bill alongside touring acts, with its New & Known Band Showcase giving emerging players a way onto the stage. Its own programme stretches across a busy network of local bills—a useful starting point for following Vancouver’s smaller-room music scene.
The Spyrals began in San Francisco in 2009 around guitarist and songwriter Jeff Lewis. Their catalogue runs from garage-recorded beginnings to Retrograde, a fifth LP recorded at Station House in Los Angeles. Blues riffs, harmonica and psychedelic detours remain part of the band’s working vocabulary.
