A concert hall with considerably more history than the average black box. Opened in 1907 during San Francisco's post-earthquake rebuild, this O'Farrell Street room pairs ornate balconies, marble columns and ceiling frescoes with a calendar that moves freely between folk, electronic music and heavy guitars.

Chicago-founded instrumental trio Russian Circles formed in 2004, bringing together Mike Sullivan, Dave Turncrantz and Brian Cook. Their 2026 album Nine continues a recording relationship with Kurt Ballou, tracked at Electrical Audio and finished at GodCity. Two decades in, the band’s shared history still drives the work.
