The venue
A concert hall with considerably more history than the average black box. Opened in 1907 during San Francisco's post-earthquake rebuild, this O'Farrell Street room pairs ornate balconies, marble columns and ceiling frescoes with a calendar that moves freely between folk, electronic music and heavy guitars.
ON THE BILL
Foy Vance
Rock / Alternative Rock
Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance has built a catalogue that includes Joy of Nothing, The Wild Swan and The Wake. Collaborators across that career include Ed Sheeran, Bonnie Raitt and Elton John. His songwriting moves between personal reckoning and a broader soul-and-folk tradition.
Texas-born songwriter Bonnie Bishop has moved between country, soul and roots music over a long touring career. Bonnie Raitt recorded her co-written song Not Cause I Wanted To, while Bishop’s own work includes The Walk. She has also collaborated and toured with Foy Vance.
