The venue
The Astoria is an East Hastings pub with live bands, themed dance nights and comedy among the events promoted through its public channels. It is a smaller-room stop on Vancouver’s independent circuit, where the individual bill matters more than a single house style.
ON THE BILL
SPELL
Spell is a Vancouver heavy-metal band whose records include For None and All, Opulent Decay and Tragic Magic. Led by Cam Mesmer, the group developed from an earlier project called Stryker, trading a narrower ’80s-metal starting point for a more atmospheric, occult-tinged identity.
