At 722 College Street, The Mod Club occupies a 1922 building with a two-storey concert layout. Previously billed as The Axis Club, the room now pairs its restored name with modern lighting, LED screens and live-streaming equipment, hosting touring bands and emerging artists on its regular concert calendar.
ON THE BILL
Boston Manor
Rock / Pop Punk
Boston Manor formed in Blackpool in 2013, starting with the self-released Here/Now EP before building a catalogue that includes Be Nothing, Welcome to the Neighbourhood and Glue. Their move to SharpTone in 2021 brought Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures, another step in a career of steadily expanding British rock.
Oklahoma City quartet Ben Quad trace their beginnings to a Craigslist connection over bands including Microwave and Modern Baseball. Their 2022 debut, I’m Scared That’s All There Is, led into the heavier Ephemera EP; Wisher, their first Pure Noise album, brought them to producer Jon Markson’s New Jersey farm studio.
Buffalo’s Spaced put out their first demo in 2021 and gathered early material on Spaced Jams the following year. Fronted by Lexi Reyngoudt, the five-piece released This Is All We Ever Get through Revelation Records in 2024: eight compact tracks that kept their hardcore approach restless and deliberately wide-ranging.
