Chandeliers above the crowd, hardwood underfoot. The Regency Ballroom sits inside a 1909 Scottish Rite building at Van Ness and Sutter, with a horseshoe balcony and 35-foot ceilings. Its historic architecture gives touring concerts a setting with a little more ceremony than the usual club room.

Formed in Austin in 2004, The Black Angels build psychedelic rock around guitars, atmosphere and a deep connection to the genre’s history. The band also helped establish the long-running Levitation festival.
