Charles Sullivan brought R&B and soul to The Fillmore before Bill Graham's psychedelic-era concerts; the venue later hosted punk as the Elite Club. Today's shows happen upstairs at Geary and Fillmore, surrounded by its celebrated concert-poster legacy.
