Almost twenty years.
One very local idea.
We’ve spent almost twenty years working around the places, people and shows that give a city its personality.
Our story began in the late 2000s, with roots at The Drake Hotel and Warner Music. From there, we’ve booked venues in San Francisco and Vancouver, promoted events, managed bands, helped plan festivals, and blogged about and reviewed shows. Different roles, different cities, but always the same pull: finding something worth sharing and helping people show up for it.
SIGNAL is the site we’ve wanted to make for years. Somewhere to bring the scattered calendars, local discoveries and good recommendations together. A place to find a show, a neighbourhood shop, a new dinner spot—or a reason to take a different route home.
There’s a little nostalgia in it, too. The local blogs you checked because you trusted the person writing them. The gig you heard about from a friend. As people find their way back to those spaces, online and in person, this feels like the right time to build something of our own.
This is a passion project, shaped by years in the scene and still taking shape with the people around it. The aim is simple: less time looking for something to do, more time being part of where you live.
